Exterior Cleaning for City of Fishers Buildings
The City of Fishers runs a set of buildings that have almost nothing in common with each other. A municipal complex downtown with three floors of glass over a masonry base. Fire stations with apparatus bay doors, tall entry glazing and a lot of road grime. Park and recreation buildings that are more window than wall. And older masonry buildings that need a completely different touch.
Walden handles exterior cleaning on civic buildings like these. Public buildings come with a constraint private ones do not: the doors open to the public on a schedule nobody gets to move, and the people walking in are residents, not employees who were warned about the work.
Working on public buildings
- Early starts, so the bulk of the work is finished before the doors open to the public.
- Ladders, hoses and equipment kept clear of accessible routes, entrances and fire lanes the whole time we are on site.
- Apparatus bays stay clear. If a station gets a run, we move, every time, without being asked.
- Newer glazed elevations and older masonry get handled differently. We do not put the same pressure on both.
- Plazas, concrete, canopies and entry glass handled on the same visit, so the city is not booking two vendors for one building.
- Insurance certificates and any required vendor paperwork submitted before the first visit.

Fire stations are their own job
Fire stations collect a specific kind of dirt. Diesel exhaust film on the bay door glass, road spray along the lower elevations, and road salt through the winter. The bay doors are usually the largest glass on the building and the least often cleaned, because nobody wants to block a bay.
We work one bay at a time and stay ready to clear out, so the station never loses more than one door at once.

Masonry, concrete and canopies
Not every surface on a civic building wants pressure. Older brick, mortar joints, painted metal canopies and cast stone get soft washing rather than a high-pressure rinse, because pressure on aging mortar does damage you cannot undo. Sidewalks, plazas and entry aprons are a different story and clean up well under a surface cleaner.
We tell you which is which before we start, and we keep runoff off the landscaping.

The rest of the route
Civic buildings are rarely all one type. On a City of Fishers route we go from an all-glass facility to a masonry entry to an apparatus bay in the same morning.

Next step
Let us walk your buildings.
If you manage facilities for the City of Fishers or any municipality in Hamilton County, we will price the buildings individually or as a package, after we have actually looked at them.
